Inspired by the yellow roses worn by the suffragists one hundred years ago. It features the word “Inalienable” emblazoned on a banner across its face.
On August 18th, 1920, Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the 19th Amendment. That day, pro-suffrage protestors and legislators wore yellow roses pinned to their lapels, while their anti-suffrage counterparts wore red roses. This prompted the day to be dubbed “The War of the Roses.”
